HISTORY OF THE CHURCH
 
The original Parish Church was built in 1822 and dedicated to St. Matthew  and during the latter part of the 19th. Century was altered several times .

In 1897 a decision was taken to reconstruct the Parish Church and in 1898 work commenced on the new Church and was completed in 1904.
